Forged Steel & Copper, cast bronze
E-mail Stephen McGehee

"I am a self taught artist blacksmith, recovering from a career as an industrial electrican. My work revolves around hand forging techniques hundreds of years old. I use a lot of scrap metal as I build pieces from the fragments of the Industrial Revolution. Concrete rebar and old structural components and salvaged copper are incorporated into much of my work. I also have a small foundry for the casting of bronze components. I get much of my inspiration from nature; currently I am using wild oats as the motif in an interior railing for a retail establishment."
