"During the past two decades I have concentrated on my series of etchings of the streets of New Orleans, watercolor, and some sculpture. I wanted to return to oil painting for simple things like the smell of the paint, the way the pigments are suspended and mixed in the medium, etc. Most of all I wanted paintings that would be fun, easy to live with, and at the same time contain a spiritual element expressed through my use of color harmonies and symbolism."
